Touchpad tapping -- am I just an idiot? |
|
My new laptop doesn't have a mouse so I am using the touchpad. I set it to accept double tapping but nothing seems to happen except that I can highlight (well, it does that whether I want it to or not) and scroll (again, seems to have a mind of its own.)
Does anyone ever really master this tapping business so dragging and dropping is easy or at least possible?
The directions in the CD that came with the computer just say how to set it up and what it can do, but they don't tell you how to do it. Don't they realize there are electronically-limited individuals out here whose brain cells weren't born with the tapping capability?
*sigh*
Any tips for the touchpad challenged?

1. It takes a little practice - you'll get the feel of if |
|
Once you do it will be worth it. It's much more efficient. No more moving your hand off the keyboard when you need a mouse. Sometimes I use just tapping to drag and drop, other times I use one of the pad buttons or shift key to lock the selection for longer drags. Play around with it for awhile.

2. I hate the whole tap click thing |

on my lap top. I eventually just disabled it and my life has been much less frustraiting. To drag and drop I just hold down the button and use the pad to move......
