4. punk -- REAL punk
...when punk was still a genuinely DIY phenomenon, not all this commercial crap like Blink 182. :puke:

6. I lived in DC during the heyday
saw some great shows, and knew one or two of the lads.

"Repeater" was my favorite album.

7. Really depends on how you categorize your i-tunes
We put almost everything that's remotely "punk", "indie" or "underground" in one genre, and we just call it "indie". Whatever.

It doesn't really help to create a separate category to put it in based on "Fugazi", unless you only want to listen to Fugazi by themselves all the time.

Anyway, Fugazi were great. I just hooked up my turntable for the first time in years, and they're one of the first "records" I'd like to get out (and eventually transfer to MP3 format).

9. They WERE good. Sounds like a good fit.

We use "indie" for anything that's "different". Kind of like the original meaning of "alternative".

Admittedly, that's most of what we listen to. But we also have a lot of world, 70s, etc. that fit better in their own categories.

BTW, we have a lot of Nick Drake on there too, and the VERY FIRST "record" I pulled out to listen to on my turntable was The Sugarcubes "Life's Too Good".

where I have my HELMET and Tomahawk. I had the same problem with deciding where to place my Steely Dan. Since I hate the term "classic rock", I ended up dropping Steely into my Jazz dir.

12. I would put it in the "What You Own" directory.
Just to see the vein on Ian's neck throb.
