you remember me posting about the young female cat last week? Well a couple of hours later I managed to snag her and get her indoors, now she's a housecat and wouldn't go back outside for the world. We need to take her to the vet for checking and an operation, but I think she's going to be very happy here.

He's a one-year old Ragdoll, and a real clown (and show quality, if I do say so).

And if you go here, you can see the two little girls we're bringing home in August (the seal point female and one of the blue point females). If you're looking for a Siamese, this breeder is excellent, careful, and very very caring.

I guess most people think Gato is the only word for cat in Spanish, and don't understand there are gata, gatito and gatita. I thought about cybergatatita, but at my age I thought that was pushing it a bit.

35. You just reminded me of a questions I have about Box Turtles

We have a female box turtle. She has been running, yes running around our background. We had the gate open for a few minutes, and before we knew it, a neighbor pulled off the street for us. My husband has a theory that maybe she is looking for a honey to mate with.

Does anyone have any reptile knowledge out there that can tell me if this might be the reason she has been sneaking out. She isn't usually like this. In fact we put up a little wood wall to keep her in the garden so the people working on my house don't accidentally step on her. She just rams the wood right down. She walked right in the room I'm sitting in and looked straight at me. This morning I walked out the back door, and there she was looking at me. I thought she was waiting for the great god of grapes, apples, snails and cantaloupe but she wasn't interested in the grapes I gave her. Tres Bizzaro.

Anybody that thinks a turtle is slow hasn't seen our turtle. Maybe we should rename her speedy Gonzales.

is one of my faves, perhaps the favorite DU cat! i have several blacks, from dark chocolate to tuxedo. have to admit they're my favorite coloring; SO is partial to tabbies.

19. Eleanor, straight from the gallery!

Update- We picked her up from the vet on Wednesday. She only needed one extraction. The bad news is that she already had several teeth missing and had periodontal pockets (layman's terms- yucky stuff) around every tooth. Well, her choppers are now clean and white, and she's currently on antibiotics and pain meds to knock back any infection. We should have the biopsy result soon. The vet thinks that the infection is coming from within the teeth (I forget the name of this), which unfortunately means more visits in the future. Meanwhile, she's eating like a horse, looking great, and even played with a toy the other night for the first time in over a year!

ellie is a very pretty girl. periodontal disease is a big killer of ferals. hard death, they have to choose between the agony in the mouth or the hunger.

mr. gary, whom i had to put down a couple of weeks ago, had lost almost all his teeth, but still snacked on crunch w/gusto right till the end.

I know it's a silly name, but we found her on our back porch and gave her a good life after no one would claim her... She was definitely a feral cat at heart but she loved love and good food...

Her name comes from what my brother said when we first found her

"Who's this big fluffy sucker on the porch???" :D

So I figure, at least "Fluffy" is a better name than the other option from that sentence... :D
