What is your unsung talent?

I would have to say mine is parallel parking. (Well, it was at one point, I'm probably a little rusty now.) When I lived in San Francisco I used to be able to squeeze my little Honda ANYWHERE with one inch clearance front and back and on a major honkin' humungous hill with a friggin' stick shift. Oh, boys and girls, I was the master of the parking break and letting it go at the exact precise moment I needed to pop the clutch. But, did anyone ever give me a medal for my efforts? No, they did not. However, my parking talent was my art and reward enough in itself. When I am dead and gone you will all sob and say, Why? Why did we never acknowledge such awe-inspiring talent while she was alive?

1. Funny, but...

I am really good at opening bottles and the lids on jars. I can open jars that my father and boyfriend struggle with!!! And I'm fairly small, too--5'3" and 95 lbs!!!

I can choose the exact amount of whatever without counting. For example, if I need to run off 67 copies, I can go to a stack of paper and without counting or even looking, pick up 67 pieces of paper.

6. I can use my hand like a water pistol.

Squirt water in someone's face from halfway across a large pool. Drives people crazy. The trick's really simple, and all it involves is cupping your hand in a way that leaves the distal knuckle straight (like if you try to make a clap with one hand), and holding your thumb back enough that water goes forward between your thumb and index finger, and not upwards between the two (like in the webspace).

And yes, I did get a life.

7. Chopping Onions

With a few strokes of a good sharp knife and onions are reduced to tiny, equal-sized bits. People who are not into onions generally underestimate the art of chopping them scientifically. I do not waste any of the onion either.

I can start fires well (a talent, I will point out that I have used for good, not evil). Camping or cookouts, I am the one who gets to start the fire.
