Poll question: What's cuter... kittens, puppies, or human babies?
And make sure to post pictures to back up your arguments!

1. Definitely puppies
Human babies could be the product of Republicans, and therefore are the offspring of ugliness and evil. And puppies>kitties. So it's simple.

13. Neither was a baby when the pics were taken.
Logos (the top one) is a Meyer's Parrot Poicephalus meyeri -- she was about 1 1/2 or 2 years when that picture was taken.

Olive (the little one in the bottom pic) is a Pacific Parrotlet (Forpus coelestis). She was 3 or so in that picture. She ran down and started biting my toes -- it took me a second before I realized she was trying to get me to pet her. :D

46. Oh, I'm with you!
I just love birds. 2 cockatiels (one,Montana, I raised by hand from 2 weeks of age) H's nine now, one dove and a red rump parrot. Someone(a friend) found him loose outside a year and a half ago and brought him to me.

My red rump parrot kinda looks like your top bird. Only red rumps have every color of the rainbow.

6. Kittens...
I must have some genetic defect, because I go weak in the knees for any type of baby animal but am left utterly cold by human babies.

I was just watching a Nature/PBS special on animal babies of various kinds (seals, turtles, gators, primates, warthogs, elephants) and could hardly contain my desire to grab them through the TV screen and squeeze the daylights out of them, they were so damn cute -- even the warthogs!

But put a human baby in front of me and all I can see is a drooling poop machine.

I think it's wise I never wanted kids. ;)

I love humans after they are 9 monts or older, but infants are scary.

35. I've had two humans and adopted 4 kittens
Damn, the humans were cute ones...but, let's be honest, not as cute as my little baby kitties.

Do human babies have fur? No. Do human babies mew? No. Do human babies gallop around and go sideways and crab-fashion and pounce? No.

Oooooooh. Kitties. :loveya:

25. Aw, I hope they all find homes
Petfinder rocks! I got my two BC's at AZ Border Collie Rescue, so they have a special place in my heart. I would hope if people are looking for a cute puppy or kitten, they will look at shelters and rescue orgs. first. I also highly recommend adopting an adult dog. Mine were already 18 months old when I got them but the advantage was, they were already house and dog door trained. They are awesome!

28. Love your name
I use to feel really uneasy with dogs. The first dog that changed my feelings about dogs was a Pit Bull named Bertha da Bluez. The first time she saw me, she decided that she loved me. She'd plop herself down on my lap or run over and lick my toes (I can remember when I didn't wear Birkenstocks). Anyway, she is long gone, but she melted all the ice in my heart that stood between me and dogs, and your screen name just reminds me of her name.

Y'know, you shouldn't mention Birks in mixed company. They're the ONLY thing in any self-respecting lesbian's closet. ;)

Glad you had Bertha to melt your heart.

42. Birkenstocks are in every self-caring teacher's closet
When I first came to the school I teach at, I was the hippie in Birkenstocks. Now a dozen of us wear them. Many of the teachers I know wear them because their foot doctor told them the would continue to have problems being on their feet much of the day unless they started wearing Birkenstocks.

I wear them because the first time I put them on, I knew that I had finally found a shoe that didn't hurt my funny, weird shaped feet. Also, I've never needed to see a doctor about my feet.

48. Puppies and kittens.
Also horses and goats.

I adored my own personal babies. I held them cuddled them, sang to them, and gushed over every little twitch they made. I did the same for my grandson. They didn't have to be cute. They were mine, so they were perfect in every way.

They were the only babies I ever responded to in that way. When everyone else approaches the new mother/baby to gush over them, I'm the one heading the other direction. I'm the one on the other side of the room, waving, smiling, calling, "Congratulations!," and.....escaping.

I like kids. Birth to 5 or 6 years old, I like them from a distance. After that, we get along fine. Good thing, since I spend all day every day with other people's kids!
