2. The 3 Stooges, of course. And Shemp, not Curly.
I know I'm alone, but I always thought the 3 Stooges were funnier with Shemp.

6. Groucho and Curly!
You can favor Shemp if you like, but Curly's my man. I just love all the weird little eee-bee-bee-bee-bee sounds and funny facial expressions that highlighted his performances.

<Phone rings. Stan picks up and listens.>

STAN: "It certainly is." <Hangs up.>

OLLIE: "Well, what was that all about?"

STAN: "The operator said it was long distance from Atlanta."

14. It might be from "The Fixer Uppers" (1935)
There's a reference to a "Long Distance" sketch in Google.

I just happened to see it on a L&H retrospective many years ago and do not remember the reference.

10. WC Fields and Mae West
not really a team, but they were great together. And WC Fields deserves a higher reputation than he now has - nearly forgotten genius.

16. Marx Brothers hands down - I always found the others just sad
The problem with a great deal of vaudeville was that it was about put-downs. I always felt bad for the weaker member of the team (eg. Abbott). The Three Stooges were just plain psychopathic. The Marx brothers were simply surreal. Three quarters of their movies made no sense whatsoever, which pleased me just fine.
