I was feeling cranky, so I thought I'd google me up some puppy love. It worked--my crankiness started to fade. Then I had a look at the ASPCA web site and found it's pretty good. There are lots of ways to support the wonderful work they do. Much as I love dogs, I can't have one where I live now, and I'm too busy to take care of one, but I decided I could spare a few hours a month volunteering with dogs through the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals -- I can walk dogs, clean out cages, drive them to vet appointments, even deliver them by car to new adoptive or foster homes. Heck, I could even work in the office if that's what they need.

Both sites have a number of links to great resources, including organizations that encourage spaying/neutering, organizations that care for feral cats, etc. And you can support the ASPCA by buying stuff, too. Have a look!

He caught a mouse today. He was so proud, he flipped it high in the air and danced around!
