Saw a big SUV with this message

neatly applied to the back window in large bold letters

LOVING FAMILY OF
MARINE LANCE CPL. SO and SO
STATIONED IN IRAQ

PRAY FOR ALL OF US

This middle aged female person owner of this artwork saw my DU & Kerry Bumper stickers and gave me the long shaking frown head.

Personally I found the swap meet sediment expressed by this window treatment to be ridiculous and inappropriate like some kind of a half assed advertisement. I have never seen anything like this before in my life.

2. In Kansas, everyone has a HUGE yellow ribbon . . .
(magnetic thingy) stuck to their car - "support our troops".

People look at you kinda funny if you don't have one.

5. The irony...
Because he voted for Bush, his son is in a war zone so he can cheaply gas up his SUV. And he shakes his head at someone who is exercising their First Amendment rights.

Anyway, who puts something like that on their window? A LOT of people have fathers/sons/brothers/husbands/etc. in Iraq, but they don't advertise it like a cheap suit. I'm sorry, but I don't have much sympathy for people like this.

6. yeah
i have great respect for someone who chooses to joing the military, assuming they aren't going to "kill them some ragheads"; but a family that does that is fishing for sympathy; kind of like "See? I'm more American than you are"

7. Crass one-upmanship: "I'm more patriotic than you, I'm holier than you..."
"My sacrifice is bigger than your sacrifice, and even my car is bigger than your car."

I certainly wish that no harm comes to Marine lance corporal whoever, but I hate to see our military being used as pawns and symbols during all this crap.
