3. The 2 part mini series felt like a pilot to me.
Not surprised it might become a full series.

Wish they'd give something FULLY original a chance.

5. Only 13 Episodes. Don't worry.
But if it's popular...
Then again, SciFi should just rename their channel "The Stargate Channel" Seems like that's the only show they frelling support!

12. ha ha frelling....
Sci fi thread, ya gotta love it.

Frankly, I am quite excited by the new Battlestar. I thought it was very well done while paying homage to the first. Let's face it guys, like the original Trek, it was cheesy.

I can't wait.

6. As a diehard BG fan, I was surprised that the miniseries was quite good
And I'm very happy it got renewed as a full series.

The 4-hour miniseries will be released on DVD in November. I highly recommend it.

9. You have no taste.
The original sucked, the only thing it has going for it is the nostalgic value for older scifi fans. Damn robot dogs and cute kids make me want to throw up. The new one absolutely rocks. You either didn't watch it, are extremely prejudiced by an undeserved love of the original, are extremely prejudiced by a deserved loathing of the original, or have no taste whatsoever. It was very well done, the acting was great, the dialog was superb, the effects were realistic, and the story was compelling. You can't say any of those things at the travesty called the original BSG. I watched the miniseries twice, and would have recorded it if my vcr wasn't on the fritz. This is wonderful news. Even the slashdot fans have warmed up to it, and they were merciless in attacking it before it came out.

Moore remake. One of them already has a prominent place in the show's credits.

Edward James Olmos, who plays Cmdr. William Adama, is in line to direct the ninth episode of the 13-episode first season, according to Galactica 2003.

The episode reportedly will begin filming July 28.

Also, the four-hour miniseries that aired on the Sci-Fi Channel last December will be hitting DVD in a few months. The miniseries will be released in November, just a couple months before the series makes its American debut.

The series "Battlestar Galactica" will begin in January in the U.S., and in September in the U.K., where it will air on Sky. When the series debuts again, Michael Rymer -- who directed the miniseries -- will return to direct the first episode of the first season.

July 11, 2004 - Galactica Promos Begin Airing on Sci-Fi - During the Stargate: SG-1 eighth season premiere on Friday, July 9th, the promos for the new Battlestar Galactica series began in full force. A montage of new scenes was shown, along with dialogue spoken by the principal characters (Baltar, Six, Apollo, Starbuck, and Roslin). The promos end with Adama saying, "The world is over. The fighting is just beginning!" One is reminded of the opening credits to Season 4 of the Babylon 5 series. The new Battlestar Galactica will premiere on Sci-Fi this January of 2005.

Check out the new promo here.

13. Only One Year And 20 Days After It's "Pilot" Episodes Were Aired
Edited on Wed Jul-28-04 07:28 AM by arwalden
I wonder what took them so long.

And to think that the Sci-Fi channel had the nerve (the NERVE!) to call it a "mini-series". Ha!

Mini-series my ass!

I saw TWO episodes (and a "making-of" behind the scenese bit of fluff on the side). That doesn't qualify as a "mini-series" IMO.

-- Allen

I felt cheated. Should I reward them for cheating me?
