Can anyone explain why I get multiple pitches to switch to Verizon or Earthlink DSL when DSL is not available to me? Verizon is my telephone provider; Earthlink, my ISP. I'm on both their DSL waiting lists. Shouldn't common sense dictate that these providers KNOW they can't give me DSL service?
Even though I'm trying to clean up my language somewhat, all I can say is that this is a mind-fuck.

1. They are looking for reasons... |

To expand. You can be sure that as soon as the number of interested parties reaches a predetermined critical-mass number, they will install a switch and a DSLAM. You will then be able to get DSL.

Okay. Here is my glad face. :|
edit: it sounds like that sarcasm was directed at YOU, TS. I assure you it's not. It's all for them. I loathe money-grubbers.

2. Telocity DSL did the same thing to me a few years ago. |

They sent a postcard giving me 30 days to sign up for their service at a reduced rate. I called and was told that service wouldn't be available in my area for 60-90 days.

marketing is my SO's field. she doesn't approve of mass mailings for the irritation they cause.
these comp's have special sexions for mass mailing, & don't bother to X-ck w/ other departments.
if they provide return envelopes pre-stamped, send them back empty, no return address. cheap shot, but revenge is revenge, neh?
