5. King of the Hill, by far
Edited on Wed Jul-28-04 04:58 PM by Argumentus
If you're not from Texas, though, you probably won't "get it." In fact, there's a really simple test to see if you "get it":

Is being the substitute Spanish teacher of the year at Tom Landry Middle School one of the funniest things you've ever heard? Then you'd probably enjoy KOtH.

I used to be Homer; I've turned into Hank.

"Best Animated Show" (Other than The Simpsons)

The Simpsons is the gold standard for animated shows. Everything else is just a pretender to the throne.

40. Yeah! Years ahead of its time...
Did you ever hear about Jay Ward's run-in with JFK's Secret Service?

As a publicity stunt, Ward had toured the US in a brightly painted van, campaining for "Statehood for Moosylvania", and gatering thousands of signatures on a petition. Iw was pretty widely-publicised, and as he knew the President was a die-hard Rocky & Bullwinkle fan, Ward figured it would be no problem just pulling up to the White House and delivering the petition himself.

When he pulled up to the gate, however, he was met by very anxious, aggressive armed guards, who detained him, searched the van, and kicked him off the property.

Ward was shocked at his treatment, and went by a local TV affiliate to call his publicist. It was only then that he discovered he had happened to 'drop by' the White House at precicely the same time as the Cuban Missile Crisis began...
