Are you new to DU? Come on in, say hi, and tell us a bit about yourself.
I notice there are a lot of newbies here lately. :hi: Hi :hi:

I'm Wonk. I've been here since spring 2002, and one of my hobbies is digitally archiving important audio and video files. I also like to occasionally doodle with photoshop.

Welcome to DU, newbies :hi: How did you happen to end up here? What are your strengths? What are your interests? Anything else you'd like to share?

1. New
I'm new. I have posted under other names. I got scared to speak my mind under my real name. I guess I am a coward. I missed posting so I came up with MOLNIBXB (My On Line Name Is Bixby). I miss the times when the whole Nation was a "free speech zone". I am scared that soon America as I remember it will be completely gone. I want peace and freedom for all of us, everywhere. I pray for peace and I pray that we can change presidents and get one who doesn't lie to us. One who will lead, and not mis lead as JC said so well on Monday. I live in Hollywood, CA. I am in the biz. I wish I could be as brave and as bold as those who post and speak their minds without fear. Word is the power. The meanings are many. You have to be clear and then you are free.

Thank you DU for giving me a place to speak and listen to truth.

2. Hey MOLNBXB!
Welcome to DU! I'm in the Biz, too, but in Canada (I'm one of those entertainment industry wetbacks you keep hearing about!). There's a few industry types around here...keep your eyes peeled, you might meet someone you know.

3. Did it take you a long time to learn photo-shop?
I joined in 2001 and I got to the point that I had to take a break because I was getting ready to break down from the stolen election and war mongers.

I can't remember my old password and I don't have the same email service and I can't remember my email address.

I wanted to block out politics for a while because it was causing me to get so nervous that I ended up on meds for my nerves.

Possibly some people that are newbies are actually people from the start of DU that are coming back because it's election time again.

Some of us have forgotten our passwords and we have switched Internet service. I am trying to look my info up so that I can log back in under my old account.

For now I am Winterstorm and I am one of the original members of DU.

4. not too new
I've been lurking since March of last year. I haven't posted much since I never had much personal need to have my voice heard. with the start of our invasion of Iraq I knew that I had to get involved. I don't have many personal contacts, but try to open the minds of anyone I get the chance to talk to.
I don't plan on working until after November (expecting to win). If Bush* wins, I will do all I can to try and balance the forces of evil.
I hope all the newbies here are aware how important this year is. At 51, I can say this is the most important election in my lifetime.

7. I'm the same age....
I havent felt so enthused since my ass was on the line for the "Asian Vacation" of the 60's.

DU inspires me with the knowledge that young people are active in our country's future.

8. Hello.

I'm Aftershock. I found DU through my mom. She doesn't post here, she just reads the posts.

I'm a 22 year old Democrat. I've been one all my life. I go to school at the University of Minnesota, St. Paul. It's a great campus. I love it there. I'm majoring in Political Science. I hope to be a politician someday.

As you can tell, my favorite politician is Paul Wellstone (God bless his soul). He was a great man and I will forever miss him. :( I hope to do as good of a job as he did someday. Like him, I stick up for the little people. They do more for this country than any of the elites.

I look forward to chatting with all of you!

16. HI Wonk and others!

I'm fairly new. I think I got this site from some other Democratic site, really can't remember. I lurked for quite awhile before I posted. I'm not afraid to post anything because I've been on so many boards and I've gotten so used to just posting my thoughts and moving on to the next subject. I rarely remember where I've posted even though I do use the My Posts every now and then.

I'm one of the millions of Democrats that have been sick to death since Nov-Dec 2000. I was in front of the Broward County Courthouse with my Gore/Lieberman sign watching all the Republicans being bussed in from all over the country to make sure we didn't do any recounts. I felt like I was in 1930's Germany. These people were mean and out for blood. I was truly frightened for those few weeks. It was liking watching everything you've ever believed in die right before your eyes.

I don't have even half the intellect that most of the people on this board and especially a couple of the others I am on, but I still keep posting anyway.

One sad secret. I've been going by the name Skarbrowe for a long time everywhere I post. It's the old English spelling of Scarborough. Since I was a child people would tell me how they loved my name. It finally becomes a relatively known name and it's because of a skunk like Joe Scarborough. Well, just forget about him. heh Isn't there a Rowan Scarborough that's pretty good? Also, there's always New York's Chuck Scarborough.

Thanks for the welcome and sorry for the blathering.

Skarbrowe (sshhh-Scarborough)
