Ugh....Percodan hangover. |
|
My dentist prescribed me some percodan for a bad toothache and some post endodontal pain.
Nobody said anything about a hangover! I knew there had to be a downside.

Really?
An opiate shouldn't cause a hangover (which is primarily the result of dehydration, IIRC).
However, opiates can cause an elevation in cerebrospinal fluid pressure, and in some people this results in a headache. Add that to the characteristic nausea, and I can see how it might feel like a hangover.
Taking Benadryl (diphenhydramine) before you take a pain pill should block the nausea.
If you consistently get headaches from your pain medication, you might want to mention it to your doc.
Hope you're feeling better soon!

3. Well, not so much a hangover as morning sluggishness. |
|
No headache. Just a hard time returning to full alertness.

4. I'm on Vicadin for a similar procedure. No complaints. |
|
But, in all sincerity, I don't really like them. I'd rather pursue more natural medication. :hippie:

5. I took Vioxx for my root canal |
|
never even touched my Tylenol 3 (w/ codeine).
And believe me, I'm the biggest wuss when it comes to pain!!!
But I took a Vioxx before surgery and one before bed, never suffered from any pain, never felt sluggish the next day!
:bounce:
Vioxx is good stuff!!
