This weekend is the big EAA aircraft convention, in Oshkosh.
My apartment is right underneath one of the flight paths, that some aircraft take to get there.
A B-17G (it was low enough so I could see the chin turret in front,) escorted by several (6? 8?) WW2 fighters just ROARED over my place. I really love old warbirds, and the sound was pure music.
(BIG SIGH) :loveya:

At one EAA convention I saw a B-25 medium bomber, where the "glass" nose had been replaced by 10 .50 caliber machine guns firing forward, and a 75mm cannon. :wow:
Any Germans or Japanese in front of that, it probably ruined their day. :-)

The Fly-In is a big event every spring where I live (Lakeland, FL). People come from all over the world. I too like seeing the warbirds. One of these times I want to take a ride in a Ford Tri-Motor.

I wish I could make Oshkosh or the Reno Air Races.....Maybe next year.
I used to go to the Cleveland show, till they turned it into a jet fueled recruitment drive.
....Nothin' like the sound of a Merlin !
