Damn medication transition...... |
|
Well ever since I switched from Serzone to Lexapro, my sleep patterns have become really weird. I stay up pretty well much all night, and end up going to bed around noon and getting up at maybe 9 or 10 PM. Damn, this sucks! I'm gonna try to re-establish something resembling a normal sleep pattern today. I'm gonna need a lot of caffiene.

I sounds like you need to find a patch of sunlight, and take a nap.

5. Or maybe just play cup hockey all night if there's no rodents around. |
|
Or be like our barn cats sleep outside and get into fights all the time.

2. How long ave you been switched |

to Lex? It took me a full 18 days to get my sleep re-established (I had tried taking it at different times of the day). I take my med in the morning, and I've been sleeping better than I have in ages now. I also exercise at least 25 minutes almost every day.
Good luck. Try not to do too much caffeine, get some exercise and take no more than a three hour nap (one sleep cycle). Maybe that will help. <<Hug>>

I was taken off Serzone because there were rumors floating around that they were ging to stop making it. I missed my monthly dem meeting by saying to myself "I'm gonna take a little nap around 11:00 AM, I didn't wake up until 8:30 PM. x( I missed out on a showing of Outfoxed, too.

3. Other than that, how's it working for you? |

My wife is on Lexapro for anxiety, and she swears it's a wonder drug. I am on Zoloft (50 mg) and though it curbs full-blown panic attacks, I still have a lot of residual anxiety. Anyway, I'm thinking about switching. Thanks!

When I switched from Prozac to Lexapro, it took a bit of adjusting. My doctor played with the dosage for a while until I adjusted to it. Now I can sleep and I actually have an appetite for the first time in a long time.

8. When do you take the Lexapro? |
|
Edited on Fri Jul-30-04 09:18 AM by liberalmuse
When I was on a short-cycle, I would take it between 6 or 7 pm, sleep fairly well and then wake up refreshed and energized. The first two weeks was the hardest.
On edit: BTW, I took Lexapro (10 mg/day-started out w/5 mg the first week) for 3 months, weened myself off of it, and it has done wonders! I have been off of it for a few months now, but am able to deal with anxiety and stress a lot better than I have in years!
