INDIANAPOLIS -- A man on home detention lured several people to his home and asked them to remove their clothes by claiming to be calling from a radio show, police said Thursday.
Richard Brown, 40, was arrested on charges of confinement and identity deception, Indiana State Police Sgt. Dave Bursten said.
The staff of the radio show, the Billy & Marco Morning Show on WNOU-FM, was not aware of the fraud until victims called up and complained, Bursten said.
Employees then chased down Bursten, who happened to be at the radio station to talk about speeding tickets.
According to police, Brown was making calls saying the radio show was offering $50,000 for people to come to his address and take off their clothes. Once there, he asked them to come inside and put on an article of clothing too small for them.
