She's 52 years old and voting for the first time. |

My mother-in-law, who has never had an interest in politics, sent in her voter registration card yesterday. Bush pisses her off so much that she decided to register. Today, she is my hero. :loveya:

And this is why all the polls are wrong... |
|
Come November, there will be a lot more people than just 'likely voters' at the polls. The slumbering 50% of the American electorate is not going to wake up happy...

She's pushing 70 and has never voted. She's already registered and will be voting for Kerry.
My *brother* (and I emphasize that because he's been apolitical for his entire 43 years) has registered just to vote against Bush...and he convinced his wife to do the same thing.

9. My Mom Says her 80-year old and 104-year old friends |
|
are voting for Kerry and mad, mad, mad at Bush. So's my mom at 87 years. And they live in a conservative area. Don't count anyone out, young, old, and senior seniors. Somehow, I don't think the polls are accurately reflecting how angry the country is at Bush.

11. Cripes - You better get over there and make sure that 104 yr old eats a |
|
proper diet and takes her meds so we can be assured of that Kerry vote in November.

8. Well, my story's not quite as significant, |
|
but I'm voting for the first time in a presidential election this November. My first chance to vote was in 2000, but I threw it away. Never again.
I think what's happened with your mother-in-law is happening around the country. People who have never been interested in voting are seeing how very important this election is, and finally getting involved. As Ms. Stewart would say, it's a good thing. :D

voting for Nader, so she says now. I will continue to make gentle suggestions but I am actually happy to deny Bush at least one vote.
On Edit: She is voting in Florida.
