2. The telemarketing laws do not apply to "off-shore"
just like everything else - it's outsourced.

3. You know what the funny thing is? My wife is a telemarketer
She only accepts service calls and never makes them.

4. unlisted phone numbers
are our friends

we bought this house and IMMEDIATELY got an unlisted number. 7 years with virtually NO telemarketers is a fantastic thing

6. Register on the DO NOT CALL LIST
Telephone soliciters is one of my big pet peeves. Even with caller ID - I'd have to endure my phone ringing and me going to see who it is only to decide not to answer it. The DO NOT CALL LIST has done its magic. I get no calls - Ohio has backed it up with a state list and has started fining companies who break the rules. I get NO phone calls!

10. Here's your link:

It works! I moved last October to a new home, after having registered my old number and enjoying my non-ringing phone for months. I registered the minute I got my new number and though i suffered through a couple of months of incessant telemarketers, they magically stopped, and I have gotten only one solicitation call this year.

9. Same here. I use to get 5-10 calls a week. Now nothing. It's great.

8. Yep.
When I got my house 5 years ago, I got nothing but calls from people claiming they could lower my interest rate. I still get them, occassionally.

But I bought my house when

a. Interest rates were at a record low

b. Using a Veterans Administration loan

c. Using California Housing Authority Finacial Assistance (CHAFA)

The only way to beat my interest rate (FIXED) would be to pay me money.
