Return with me to the thrilling days of YESTERYEAR !!
To 1967 when comix were KING ! At a time when twelve cents would buy a boy a first class ticket to the exotic, mystical wonders of the world.
It was the year when a young man dreamed of the day he could leave behind his parents, his best girl, his SS396 Chevelle, and fly to the far away, steamy jungles of South Vietnam !!
Join me as we follow the adventures of one such lad, who thanks to the magical super powers of a goofy cap, was able to live out a young man's dream of a lifetime !!

This is the story of..."Tod Holton, SUPER GREEN BERET" !

These things play over and over in my head.
It's hell being me

3. That was truly warped
Y'know, there was always a movement to claim that comic books sicken young minds. Maybe this is the book people in that movement saw...

6. Actually the website author saw an opportunity for a different claim
...ROLF humor
If you read on...It gets more bizzare.
I laughed 'til I coughed stuff up.

I remember these propaganda comix of the era, though most of the ones I had were Korean War. Commie machine guns reported with a "BUDDAH BUDDAH BUDDAH" sound effect. (probably subliminal religeous connection)

"Super Green Beret" however, has to be the cheesiest attempt at recruitment buzz ever put to pulp.

...from the face of the earth, doesn't it ?

1968 proved that it didn't.

on edit:
Then again...how many freepers still have that comic stashed away at mom's house. Where they're staying 'til they uhhh .."get back on their feet"
