2. "Smokey Joe's Cafe" was *not* by the Coasters

It was by the Robins, whose lead and bass voices went on to form the Coasters.

5. "Poison Ivy"
Sounds like a funny, novelty song, but with nasty undertones; I love that one!

8. I doubt it

"That Is Rock 'n' Roll" was the B-side of "Along Came Jones." Its first verse went...

Did you ever hear a tenor sax
swingin' like a rusty ax?
Honkin' like a frog
down in a hollow log.
Baby, that is rock 'n' roll!

I believe the Stones tune you're thinking of is "It's Only Rock and Roll (But I Like It)," their dumb-assed apology to the Studio 54 crowd for not embracing disco as the be-all and end-all of music.

"Only" rock and roll, my ass!

Poison Ivey comes a creepin
arou-ou-ou-ou-ound you.

Well measles make you bumpy,
and mumps'll make you lumpy,
and chicken pox will make you jump and twitch.
The common cold'll fool ya,
and whoopin cough can cool ya,
but Poison Ivey, Lord, will make you itch.

It's gonna take an ocean (dumpty dumpty dump)
of Calomine lotion (dumpty dumpty dump)
She'll get you in Duh-uhtch.
You can look, but you better not touch
Poison Iveeeee, oh-oh yay-yuh

All about a lady of dubious qualities named Ivey.
And that is all by-god from memory!
Yowzah!
;-)

9. "D.W. Washburn"
Still cracks me up. One of the funniest songs I've ever heard.
You can hear a little here:
http://www.fye.com/catalog/musicProduct.jhtml?itemId=10000560

"D.W. Washburn",
I heard a sweet voice say.
"D.W. Washburn
This is your lucky day,
A hot bowl of soup is waiting,
A hot bowl of soup and a shave.
D.W. Washburn
We picked you to save."

"Can't you hear the fluegel horn,
Can't you hear the bell?
Even you can be reborn, you naughty neer-do-well,
If you don't get outta that gutter
Before the next big rain,
D.W. Washburn -
You're gonna wash right down the drain."

"Up! Up!
C'mon get up!
Get up off that street.
If you can only make it to your hands and knees,
I know you can make it to your feet."

"D.W. Washburn",
I said to myself,
"D.W. Washburn
why don't they go save somebody else?
You see I got no job to go to.
I don't work and I don't get paid.
I got a bottle of wine, and I'm feelin' fine,
And I do believe I've got it made.
I'd like to thank all you good people,
For coming to my aid,
But I'm D.W. Washburn,
And I believe I've got it made
(D.W. Washburn) I do believe I've got it made
(D.W. Wasburn) Don't need no body
(D.W. Washburn) And I believe I've got it made....."
