I don't get it. At all.
Sorry.

But then, I am one of the few people on the planet who turned down an invitation to the WH for dinner (Regan Admin).

I do not understand this at all.

6. Not if you wanted to stay out of Portsmouth Naval Prision,
you did not.

It was a tough decision, and I was ordered to go by my Commanding Officer at the time when I said I was not going. I appealed to his boss, an Admiral who ruled that I did have the right not to attend this function.

All in all, it pretty much made me a pariah to many.

3. They're affraid that * will take away their jobs if they decline
I know it doesn't make sense but, they don't care as long as they think they have some control.

5. Karl Rove demands control!
Yes, Karl Rove expects all of Chimpy's public appearances to be controlled. When * visited Pgh in August, none of the hundreds of antiwar protesters was able to view *. BTW, when was the last time you observed the Smirking Chimp on TV, shaking hands at a mall or public park with hundreds of supporters grateful for sending their sons and daughters to Iraq to fight terrorism? And when was the last time you observed Smirk on TV, jogging alongside his SS contingent? Send me a postcard when you observe any of these photo ops!

4. Some unions have endorsed
Republicans, I think the Teamsters are pretty pug friendly and have endorsed pug candidates:

http://www.nathannewman.org/other/teamstersGOP.html

But what is amazing about Republicans tskk-tssking the irregular
donations to Carey's election is that they don't have the decency to keep
their mouths shut. What the Democrats are accused of doing is backing
the pro-democracy and anti-corruption faction of the Teamsters in exchange
for political support Carey's members overwhelmingly supported in the
first place.

On the other hand, for two decades, the Republicans supported the corrupt,
mob-backed leadership of the Teamsters union and protected them from
serious government investigation. In exchange, the Teamsters were the only
major union that supported Republicans for the Presidency and would donate
millions to the Republican party.

What we have in the US is business unionism and not real trade unionism. There is little radicalism even in the face of massive layoffs and the assault on overtime. Union members should be operating work stoppages but they wont.

7. Repukie unions
You will also notice that some unions in "defense" industries donate millions to Repukie candidates outside their districts.

10. An engineer's union
Monday, Bush brought along his chief political adviser, Karl Rove, for the half-day trip to address the International Union of Operating Engineers, which represents 400,000 construction and maintenance workers in the United States and Canada.

Bush has tried to woo some trade and industrial unions, which tend to be more conservative than public and service sector unions. The Operating Engineers union is among the largest labor donors to Republicans, contributing 16 percent of its $1.3 million to the GOP in 2002, and its president, Frank Hanley, has appeared at several previous events with Bush.

13. I work 20 miles from there at Ford (Local 1250). Our work force averages
55 or so years old. Many relocated from Va., W.V., Kentucky , etc. 30+ years ago. I am dismayed by the # of idiots there who vote gop on 2 issues: guns and abortion. These people have NO fucking idea how anti-union the gop that now runs all 3 branchs of our state and federal govt. is. Under Clinton we had the 3 largest years of profit sharing (and thus profitability) in Ford's history. Not to mention overtime availability (all voluntary) of 7 days a week, 12 hours a day. Oh yea, and our stock price(heavily owned by workers) has dropped by 2/3 from the low 30's to 10 a share. So what is the transplanted, born-again, tobacco-chewin', cousin fuckin', head-up-the-ass answer to all this evidence of how fucked up THEIR economic picture is under the chimp compared to the Great Penis? "Well, at least he ain't screwin' his intern!" This from "union" people who have seen their net worth cut in 1/3 with no way (overtime) to recover at this late point. It's like th O.J. jury, you can't change a closed mind.:puke:

working-class republicans... my grandfather and great grandfather (both left of the wobblies!) must be rolling in their graves... if they had not been cremated, that is.
