A question for COLDPLAY fans..
Is "A Rush of Blood to the Head" on the same level as Parachutes? IMHO "Parachutes" is the best music out in years - I just soooo dig it! I love "ClockS" and "The Scientist" but how is the rest of the CD?

1. A Rush of Blood to the Head is far better than Parachutes
IMO.
Every song on that CD is classic- I get chills hearing "Politik" "In my Place" and hell, every damn song on that CD.
Pump it up, lean back, and prepare for an emotional experience.
Coldplay is the best band out there right now.

2. I like it better.....but two different moods...

Parachutes is all mellow... It's the rare occasion when a band is better on their sophmore effort than their first shot.

Rush of Blood to the Head rocks out briefly (Politik, the one they did at the Grammys), and also the title track is fantastic--Chris Martin talking about burning down a building....actually it's an anti-war song (that's how I hear it, anyway).

I also like In My Place. The Scientist is my favorite song of theirs, and Clocks is damn near addictive--can you believe they almost didn't put Clocks on the cd??

???

Parachutes I like generally, but there are actually more individual "songs I like" on Rush of Blood...

4. Good assessment
But dear god, the thought of "Clocks" not being on that CD is frightening- I listen to that song nearly 8 times a day!
Parachutes is the album I like to listen to when I'm feeling down; ROBTTH when I feel alive.

13. I *adore* Clocks!!!!!
It was that song that really won me over. I enjoyed "Parachutes," as an album, but hadn't really revisited it in awhile. But the first time I heard "Clocks" (I was in a bar and it came on the jukebox), it was love.

"A Rush of Blood to the Head" hasn't left my cd player in months. What a great fucking album.

:-)

9. Glad to hear you like them!
They should be working on their third album after they wrap up their tour, which is either now over or almost over. Can't wait! :D

10. There's already a Coldplay TRIBUTE album, LOL!
I got my copy of ROBTTH the day after the Grammys, had to go to three stores to get it--in the second store I saw the tribute cd, LOL.

Tribute CD? They've only done two albums! That's how big they are, especially in the UK? I don't know, but they are pretty good (I think the drummer is the weakest link, as they say, but I can live with him quite happily)!

12. Oooooooh I like "Rush of Blood" so much more!!!!!
It's meatier, it's more dramatic, it's the best headphone album I've owned in fifteen years, and every song on it is exquisite.

I even use the lyrics from "Politik" in my sig line.

I heart Coldplay as they give me hope in the future of pop music,
Jennifer
