I always thought Will Pitt was a smart, intelligent, level headed guy.... |
|
...but it turns out he's delusional. Thinking his Patriots will actually win the Super Bowl this year instead of my beloved Philadelphia Eagles.
And to think I once admired Pitt for being the smart, progressive thinker that he is. He must hate america if he can't accept the Eagles as this year Super Bowl Champs!

I'm a betting gal, but we'll do something more embarassing than cash. I've already got my naked ass on the line with Matcom and the World Series. I'm sure we can think of something creative for the Super Bowl

And as a lifelong Texas Rangers and Dallas Mavericks fan I can commiserate to some degree about hope springing eternal.
But at least I've got my Cowboys. ;)

It was a pleasure sweeping you guys, though if you do get to the playoffs, please beat those yankee bastards, i hear the rangers have the best record against them.

22. A bottle of tequila and a bottle of Febreeze |
|
will be delivered to my residence by you, dressed in a bunny suit, the moment it becomes apparent that your pathetic wastrel team is out of the running. If, by some act of God, the Eagles do manage to stagger into a championship, the tequila and Febreeze shall be delivered to you, by me, in the aforementioned bunny suit.
Yes?

I really hope things can be for the steelers the way they are in my Madden season thus far, Tommy Maddox with a 75% completion rate, Ward, Randle Al, and Burgess kicking ass receiving, etc.

if Brady goes down. Though considering the Pats now have a legitimate RB in Corey Dillon, Brady should see a lot less pressure this season.

17. Hey, the Bengals were a much improved team last year |
|
They only missed the playoffs by one game. Although I do think calling them for Super Champs (I wish) is a little too optimistic, look for them to be in the playoffs this year.

Of course you may be pulling my leg. I don't know who's in which conference in football. I can't keep up with a league in which two Midwestern team are in their conference's Western Divisions and a team in a Southern Division is further north than two teams in the Northern Division.
All I know is I go with my heart. In football, my heart says "teams with animal names!" and this year it's mammals over birds. Rowr!

Plus, anyone who has lived as long as us with the Philly Curse should know that THE ONLY time to count your championships is when the final minute of the final game has ticked off.
Look, I sat in the BLOODY STANDS for the Eagles-Carolina game, so convinced was I that Third Time was the Charm, but even then I KNEW that the Philly Curse hovers over the city liek a black cloud.
(and is amplified and intesified by WIP, but that is another thread topic)
I do admit it looks good. But I refuse to make rosy predictions and I refuse to buy into the hype again knowing what I know about the Philly Curse.
Sorry. Our Iggles are going to do well, I think, 10-6, 11-5, maybe even 12 wins again not out of the question.
But we now share an NFC East, AGAIN, with two of the greatest coaches ever and two of the handful of coaches who are the equal of or better than Andy Reid.
Gonna be tough. Sorry to rain on your parade, but your words remind me of every premature boastful Philly Moment where we were so SURE...
...and then the ashes in the mouth taste.
Don't jinx us, m'dear, we have enough Jinx Karma as it is, y'know?

34. HEY!!! Don't be mean - you're invited when Will Pitt serves us tequilla |
|
the new bet is a straight up bet on best record - loser sends the winner a fine bottle of tequilla.
However, if one of our team makes it to the superbowl then the loser has to serve the winner the tequila in the bunny suit (and the winner of the bet can invite friends).
So I'm figuring you'd probably want to be there when Will is visiting us in his Bunny Suit serving us a fine bottle of Anejo Tequila!
