The joys of home remodeling |
|
OK right now, I'm in my pj's and am desperately in search of a way to take a shower privately. The bathroom is about 90% done but has no doors on it. There are men pounding on the house putting in new windows and vinyl siding and my dog is locked inside w/me going nuts. The Guniea Pig and Cockatiel seem unfazed but I had to put my cat out for fear she'd catch (and eat) a wild bird which is flying around downstairs. My bedroom is covered in sawdust because SO discovered a 4'by 5' area around the window rotted from ants and a leaky window. He had to sheetrock it this weekend. There's no power in there either.
Does anyone know what I should do about the bird?

Open the windows for the wild bird... she'll find her way out.

2. Or... put up some garden netting to snag her in flight... |
|
... it should be painless and safe for her. Then you can free her outdoors.

4. I can't. All but one are painted shut |
|
And that one is covered with a tarp because of the one that is boarded shut upstairs (the one SO had to work on) These are old windows which is why we are FINALLY getting new ones.

If you can darken the area where the bird is, and open a door, it should fly to the light.
You have my sympathies. I went through the identical home remodeling nightmare at this time last year. My biggest temper tantrum was when the contractor, who has since declared bankruptcy and headed for parts unknown, pulled all the crews off of my job to go finish a job that they left a week prior to starting mine. BTW, the contractor came highly recommended having been the business manage/foreman of another highly reputable company.
A critical word of advice! GET LIEN WAIVERS FOR EVERYTHING!
Find out who all the suppliers/subs are and get lien waivers from all of them!!!!!

5. You have my sympathies over that one |

I think Im ok in this case though. The contractor is our town selectman and a childhood friend of my SO's. He has longtime roots in this town too. If he ever tried to screw us (which I highly doubt) we'd know how to find him.
