I just had my first day of school for 11th grade. Ask me anything. |
|
Thankfully Malvern Prep has a half-day for the first day back.
I'll be on until 4:55 PM.

Junior year! The lowest of the low! When I was in High school, junior year was the hardest, 'cause in NY you had to pass standardized state wide tests (Regents exams) to get a state degree. Junior year was the year of the majority of the Regents (English, Foriegn Language, Social Studies, Math, and Science, although math and science were annual exams), so there was all this pressure! Plus, for me I still hadn't gotten comfortable in my own skin yet, and I was still awkward, and geeky (somethings never change), making it even more stressful. Good luck, goob!

17. Wow, BC Calc as a Junior! |
|
I took it as a senior, got straight Cs, and ended up getting a 5 on the AP test (to my teacher's shock and, dare I say, dismay).
Do you still need a $100 calculator to take BC calculus, or does your school loan them or ignore them?

mine is a TI-89, but TI-83s are also common.
Most other people at my school take it as seniors...I'm just good at math. *smirks in a way reminiscent of Chimpy*

When I moved from Crappy School District A into Better School District B, I was three years behind in math but also tested "gifted." They wanted to put me into a track similar to yours -- so I'd be taking geometry as a freshman , pre-calc as a sophomore, etc. -- but my mom vetoed it because of the catching up I needed to do.
I could have taken "Counting With M&Ms" for all it matters now.
Good luck!

high school? (I'm older than dirt so I just want to know)
For example: I had a biology teacher who told us that men were smarter than women because their brains were bigger.

but I did have a science teacher in 8th grade that thought the Tevatron particle accelerator in Illinois was the "Betatron" or something like that (I don't really remember.)
I ended up teaching most of the students in the class personally, as I knew more than he did.

essentially the computer class is an elective and the physics class is an option (what I'm trying to say is that you have to take a science class, but which one is up to you).
