My A/C has been out since Aug 20, and since I could only talk to a "phone robot" when I called for service, naturally, when the repair guy came out and assessed the problem....the answer was.."We need to order the part"..
The part has still not come, and we are so tired of having 90+ in the house..:(:(
Now they tell me that when the part does come in, it mighht be this FRIDAY, before they can get back out .:(..
It has been over 100 every day since the damned thing broke:(..
Even my kitties are uncomfortable.. Instead of ripping around chasing each other, they have all gone into "jungle-cat mode".. Sleep on tile floor all day, and race around after midnight :(..
I need some karmic thoughts sent out to UPS... "Must have part..Must have part....Must have part"

You must feel so gratified (NOT!) to be proof positive that the "service economy" is so much bullshit.
I gave up and took a $15/month service contract. For that, I get 24 service (FREE if the call comes in between 6am and 5pm, and at day rates after hours), 2 free checkups a year (one for AC, one for heat), discounted parts and labor, and guaranteed service on in 24 hours, winter or summer.
Best money I've ever spent. Kinda like extortion, but ask me if I'm complaining. Nope.
