3. It should make a turn soon
to the north. A trough is predicted to affect its path and hopefully this will happen soon. The models suggest the east coast should be spared a hit,and if there is one it would probably be New England to the maritimes. Hopefully not...ever heard of the Long Island Express of 1938? NC should be OK,but this storm is so powerful that anyone from NC and points north should probably monitor it. It's a beauty though,isn't it?

but I was living in the Keys in 98 when Georges(a mere Cat 2)hit and it was no fun. I saw Homestead after Andrew,and that gave me immense and everlasting respect for the power of hurricanes. I have to admit that I find them fascinating,though.
