Poll question: I'm drunk. What movie should I watch?
Edited on Tue Sep-02-03 11:56 PM by WilliamPitt
I've seen them all. Below is the best of what I have on hand. Don't suggest anything else; I don't own it.

8. How could it not be?
Fucking excellent cast, and added poignancy points for being one of River Phoenix's last movies.

18. lol
Changing your avatar to Zappa, and agreeing that "Sneakers" has a great cast - we'll never dispel the gene-splice myth. :-)

12. that was my vote
Plenty of great films in your library, but "Sneakers" just seems right - not too heavy, not too light, great cast (Sidney is god), and fits the anti-authoritarian mood right now. Plus, a dig at Bush Sr.

Go with "Sneakers". :-)

21. And don't forget stealing the RNC's money at the end
That was the icing on the proverbial cake.

And I changed the avatar to Zappa for two reasons: I finally got my guitarist friend to admit that Zappa was a fucking genius when I made him a copy of Hot Rats, and my dad kind of looked like Zappa.

I wish I could remember the great line Sidney had after he beat the shit out of those two security guards when Akroyd asked him why he got kicked out of the CIA.

6. That's just the sort of pinko movie list that will attract A$$cru$t$ eye
Just the subversive list to draw up a psychographic profile of you, Will.

I voted for The Two Towers. It's a damned good flick, though so are most of the rest.

Apocalypse Now is a good drunky movie, but you don't have it.

Enjoy!

16. Sell that "special edition" immediately!
Do not even THINK about watching Redux; it sucks big time! Find the original theatrical-release copy.

20. Me, too.
I own it, also, and I watch it about once every six months.

Went on a jag one time; watched "Apocalypse Now," "Hearts of Darkness," Turner's version of "Heart of Darkness" (blech!), and read "Heart of Darkness," all in a two-week period.

"Apocalypse" really gets what Conrad meant.

13. But you can never, EVER go wrong...
...with Kevin Spacey! I could watch "The Usual Suspects" about 100 times and not get tired of it.

(Of course, when you're drunk, it might be tooooo confusing. Drink anything interesting?)

23. I was going to suggest American Beauty straight off
...until I saw your requirement not to suggest anything on your list. But now that you say you have it, that's gotta be it. Interesting that I associated that with you immediately (when you said you had been drinking).

It's perfect for a youngish, highly educated man who is in a committed relationship.

Heh heh.

Have fun...

Maybe I'll turn it on too. I borrowed it from a friend recently as I have seen it only once.

No:

27. Is That All You Have On Hand?
I'm not suggesting anything.

However, you may want to check on a DVD burner and/or a gift certificate to 'Victoria's Secerets' for Ms Pitt.

I'm a little toasted too, but I'm never bored....

29. Personally, I loved "Thirteen Days".
I didn't even mind Kevin Costner in it, he was very good. I think he should only do movies that are Kennedy-themed.

30. If you were sober, I would have recommended ``Thirteen Days,''
which I know you like and it is excellent. However, my recommendation is ``Oceans Eleven'' (the original), since I suspect the cast was far from sober and you could probably identify.:D
