The Navy Blue Angels are dive bombing my house!!!! |
|
At least that's how it sounds. They are here for the Chicago Air & Water Show, and I live close to Lake Michigan.
I was just in the kitchen emptying the ice cube trays and thought the damn building was collapsing on me. Even my deaf-as-a-post 92-year-old mother jumped about 10 feet -- and we have 9-foot ceilings!
And we get to repeat this experience tomorrow afternoon.

1. I know what you mean, greataunt. |
|
I live on Kenmore, right off Granville. Just right off the lakefront. It sounds exactly like we're under attack.
Yep, one more day of this.

It is fantastic!
People who live near military bases, especially air fields, know what you mean.
They go through the noise every day.

5. I can see parts of it from my back yard. |

With a million people down there on the beaches, I prefer to stay home. Too damn much to do on Saturdays, anyway.
On edit: The show stretches Chicago noise ordinances. The powers-that-be never allowed the Concorde rights to fly in and out of O'Hare.

4. they wer 50 FREAKING FEET above my place |
|
the first weekend of this month. can you imagine that noise if you were expecting a strafing or missile attack as well? that realisation hit me over 20 years ago when my sister-in-law and i could not escape it and could not get her 1 year old to stop crying. it was gut wrenching.
it should be outlawed until everyone has health insurance and a place to clean themselves, poop, sleep and eat, with dignity, peacefully and privately.
