AP Breaking: Valley Forge was actually a cakewalk. |
|
Edited on Sun Aug-22-04 05:18 PM by MikeG
Yes - according to new documents recently discovered,
- No one died at Valley Forge during the Revolutionary War
- The temperature never went below 50 degrees during the winter.
- George Washington actually spent the winter in Virginia.
- The British came over for beer parties all the time.
- No one ran out of food or clothing.

There are various accounts as to what happened at Valley Forge, and I'm sur many of them are pretty well Legend based on facts now obscured. In any case, I don't know if "cakewalk" would describe what these guys went through....:)

13. LOL...I can take that as an honest group... |
|
Many of them came over on Slow Boats, and after a keg or two of ale, who knows wtf happened. Even to the point where a budding young Captain of His Majesty's Bowling Grenadiers, blew himself up showing his skills while searching for rum.

8. Geo Washington and Co were a bunch of wimps! |
|
Big bawl-babies, whining about a little cold weather.
Thanks for bringing this out into the open. For far too long, Washington has coasted on this "terrible winter of 1776" crap. Hell, he even used it to get elected President! Shameless twit.

10. BREAKING: EX FARM HAND CALLS WASHINGTON A "DOPE FIEND" |
|
Edited on Sun Aug-22-04 05:41 PM by No2W2004
TORY TIMES: Ex-Mt. Vernon farm hand Josiah St. Hubbins today at a press conference organized by Redcoats for Reform said that Gen. Washington spent most of his time during major engagements at is plantation smoking bowl after bowl of hemp and listening to his personal chamber group "Ye dead". St. Hubbins said "Was Washington at Valley Forge...no. He was in Virginia stoned out of his gourd. I can tell you this, because I was there." Several discrepancies have already been found in St. Hubbins story though, as he actually never worked at Mt. Vernon, but worked at a neighboring farm during the same time period.

|
And I heard he shot himself just to get a purple heart. That no-good, two-timing EX-BRITISH SOLDIER! The man didn't even WANT America to get pulled into long, pointless wars! Does this sound like a patriot to you? Uniting America as one party? Compromise, fairness? Is this a man you want YOUR LIBERAL LEFT WING LESBIAN-RUN COMMUNIST-LOVING PUUUUBLIC SCHOOLS TEACHING YOUR KIDS IS A HERO *EXPLODES*
Ow, I hurt my head :(

15. I always gag when I hear Washington's posse referred to as "patriots". |
|
Edited on Sun Aug-22-04 11:49 PM by secondtermdenier
Like it or lump it, the bottom line is the dudes who worked with "Guns n' Hemp" Washington, "Bad Credit Risk" Jefferson, and "Playa" Franklin were obviously violent revolutionaries. A true patriot would have been loyal to King and country. Heck, some of the New Englanders were from families that a century back had supported the English Civil War, which had overthrown and executed the King.
