Anyone use NetZero HiSpeed dial-up?
I'm stuck with dial-up here, and NetZero tv ads claim that their HiSpeed dial-up services can work up to 5x as fast as normal dial-ups. Anyone here actually use it, or NetZero in general? How do you like them compared to MSN or AOL? Right now I have AOL and HATE IT!!! Anything would be better than this. Plus, NetZero HiSpeed would be $10/month cheaper. Thanks.

1. It's alright ...
The little blue bar still goes across the bottom of the screen, but it's not as wide - no banner ads.

But it's still not very fast, and I do get kicked off every once in awhile.

Compared to AOL --- Netzero's ok.
Compared to MSN --- Netzero would probably suck a bit.

If you can afford Comcast or Yahoo DSL, that's the best bet, IMO.
I'm just too cheap to pay for it.

2. Does your local phone company offer DSL service for your address?

Call and make sure you ask NetZero if they have a DSL presence in the local phone company office that serves your address. the local phone companies have to have DSL capabilities in their central offices and you have to be in a certain area range in that office in order for you to use your phone line for hi-speed connections. NetZero has to have the same capabilities.

4. Net-Zero is not offering DSL. They call it "Speed band"
it is not high speed. They just use your phone line and use compression and data storage.

I use Juno which is the same company as Net-Zero. It is 9.95 and is faster then AOL was, and I get on-line first try (AOL took up to 4 attempts to get on-line.)

3. Do you work for NetZero or their ad/Pr agency?
If you do, congratulations on the guerilla marketing.

5. Um, no
I'm a college student in need of better Internet access who was just repeating what their ad says. Sorry to offend there, sheesh.
