Anyone wear false teeth?

They told me that 2% of the people can't wear them from a phobia of something being in their mouths all the time.

I nearly gagged to death after they placed both plates in my mouth and the stuff smelled like stinky porcelain glue.

I asked them to mess the teeth up a little bit so that they look real and the guy is going to do that.

My question is will I be able to eat afterwords?

Do they stay in or make noises when you talk?

What kind of cleaner or denture adhesive would you buy?

lost one front tooth playing hockey several years ago. I was taking a whizz and when I coughed, my plate flew into the toilet. Needless to say, that's where it stayed.

3. My Cousin In Law told me that she was in Walmart one time

And some lady sneezed and her teeth fell out and the women walked off and left them and my cousins daughter that was 3 at the time picked them up and went running after the lady telling her that she dropped them.

I laughed at the time but it's not funny now and I am f*cked. I just turned 40 and I have many years to go on wearing them.

I was drinking water and a guy pushed me down and my upper front tooth got smashed.. it hurt like hell and its a plastic one now and i cant even tell a difference

Dentugrip works fine..polident cleans them well but vinegar water works well too.

You can eat most foods but apples and corn on the cob can be challenging. Cut the apples.

If you have a bad gag reflex then eat some pnut butter or an egg before you put your teeth in. Food helps with an overactive gag reflex.

7. I have a full upper plate (childhood poverty did me in)

and have had since my 30s. I experience them as very nearly 'real me'. No problems at all. I can even eat cob corn, if I do it carefully.

You have to be sure they fit well, though! If they don't fit really snugly --as in hard-to-remove snugly-- and comfortably all by themselves, DO NOT accept them. You should not have to use any adhesive til they're just about worn out. That should be a decade's worth of wear at least.

Your gums shrink as you grow older, and the plastic wears away too, so eventually they don't fit well and, while you can use adhesive and later get them re-lined, it typically makes more sense if you can afford it to just get new ones.

Any of the denture cleaners work fine. Pick the least expensive.

My mother got a full set of uppers and lowers when she was in her early when she was about forty, and wore the same set until she died at age 82. It took any number of visits to make sure they fit perfectly, and she never used any kind of adhesive. They never slipped, you couldn't tell from the way she spoke that she had them. So make sure yours fit right.
