Today's on-the-road freeper encounters |
|
Edited on Wed Sep-03-03 06:01 PM by NightTrain
As you may have ascertained by now, I earn my living by traveling the highways and byways of greater Hartford, Connecticut, making deliveries. As such, I sometimes get an eyeload of some pretty stunning bumper stickers and such! Today, I saw not one, but two, examples of odious right-wing stupidity:
1. Stenciled on the rear of the cab of an 18-wheeler (with no trailer to obscure my view of the message): NUK EM BUSH.
2. A bumper sticker (on a pickup truck, naturally) with the Statue of Liberty and this oh-so-profound statement: I THINK, THEREFORE I'M PRO-LIFE.
I'll bet the pro-death guy in the 18-wheeler would've had a lot in common with the pro-life guy in the pickup truck!

Whenever I see cars with bumper stickers like that, I get the urge to go out and get some stickers that say the exact opposite, and very carefully overlap them on the old ones.
I am conifdent that this would provide me with HOURS of laughter if they noticed them before I left the area. My friend had some rather controversial stickers on his car, and we'd get some dirty looks from people who would ride behind us, then they'd cut around just so they could glare at us.
One or two would mouth off but we'd just look at them like 'whatevah hatah'.

I once replaced a bumper sticker that read I DON'T BRAKE FOR LIBERALS with one that stated I'M GAY AND I'M PROUD! I've often wondered how long it took that moron to notice....

to live in a city (finally) where there are major political races waged between ALL democratic candidates... with a few pitiful repukes who never have a chance in hell of being elected. consequently, i only see pro-life bumper stickers when i venture into the single repuke district, where the mall sprawl is, naturally.
i did see a great anti-* one today:
BUSH/CHENEY IN 1984

6. I made my own little stickers which say |
|
"Impeach the ignorant halfwit." I put them in my purse and put them up in restrooms all over. Inspired by a bit of graffite I saw in a university beer/pool/live music hangout: "I hope I live to see the day George W. Bush is hanged in Nuremburg". I thought that was a wonderful, pleasant thought, so I made some stickers. When I see something like that it gives me a little lift.
