she did a real show-stopping version of Crying early in the show. Ended the main set with "Big Boned Gal" which rocked, then did an amazing "Three Cigarettes in an Ashtray" as her first encore.
Also did Miss Chatelaine, Constant Craving, a kick-ass steel-guitar version of Fever. Actually a rather short show. Only an hour and ten minutes WITH encores. But damn, she was fun.

3. "Constant Craving" gives me chills.... |

it's so perfect...
So is her version of Cole Porter's "So In Love", and I've seen her do that one live.

she didn't do So In Love... I woulda died.
I was also disappointed she didn't do "Johnny Get Angry"
While watching her, I wondered why she isn't a much bigger star than she is. Her talent is amazing. I predict she'll pull an Ella Fitzgerald in mid-career and perform a new series of American Songbooks. Can you imagine her re-interpreting a lot of Gershwin, Porter, Arlen, etc. She can also add Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and a few newer writers.
A voice like hers just CAN'T be allowed to languish.

You are so lucky! I've always wanted to see her live but always seem to miss her whenever she's in town. I've had a crush on her ever since that magazine cover where Cindy Crawford was shaving her (LOL!). I've got a big thing for drag kings. I adore her voice, too.

if you get a chance, go.
She was warm and funny and sang like nobody I've seen for a long time.
She did a fun version of "Give Me a Kiss to Build a Dream On", and afterward, did a very funny riff on Britney and Madonna. She also did a really good bit on American politics, especially the California recall. She seemed to have a great time, and the audience loved her.
PLUS... as an added bonus, you'll get to see more femullets than you've ever seen in one place.

9. She absolutely blew me away |

the first time I saw her. I don't believe there is a better performer on the planet. I don't know why she's not more well known. Perhaps she just doesn't want to do the celebrity thing and doesn't promote herself.

I adore KD! The most amazing yet under recognized voice of our time. I have yet to see her live goddammit! Whenever I get a new stereo or car (with a great stereo), the first thing I play is "Shadowland." Her voice and the production on that one sounds amazing on a great stereo. Well, it sounds good on anything, but it's a great test CD. I'm jealous.
