Anyone change their mind after tonights debate....?
Edited on Thu Sep-04-03 09:54 PM by gully
Or open their mind a bit?

I'm thinkin Lieberman would make a decent prez? Not a great one, but a vast improvement.

Anyother observations about ANY of the candidates?

I'm a firm Dean supporter personally. But, my question is...were you surprised by 'anyone?'

3. Lieberman made me cringe
Dennis handled himself very well albeit stumbling a bit with the Spanish. I think he made up some ground on the current leaders.

Kerry solidified himself as my number two.

I like Carol more everytime I watch her.

All in all, I think they all (Lieberman excepted) did a good job.

Nothing changed in my personal rankings though.

4. I agree with you. Lieberman turned some heads tonight
I think tonight's performance swayed me toward the Lieberman camp. He truly is probably the only one who's taken seriously enough to challenge Bush.

8. Lieberman got the applause of a few cadavers.
He's toast. No money. No message that Dems like. He is SO last century.

5. I liked Ms. Braun very much, too.
Dennis Kucinich did a great job.

I couldn't believe Dick Gephardt! What was it he called Bush? An absolute failure? I loved it! Each and every time!

Kerry looked good, Dean looked good. Heck, they all, except Lieberman, looked good. But even he would be an improvement (albeit a slight one.)

My wish? Kucinich or Braun.

If we could only fight repukes like our "leaders" fight each other.

7. LIEberman? Are you serious?
What we don't need now is Bush Lite.

Lieberman is toast, despite his name recognition. He's broke and let's see if he releases the 3rd quarter donations. Bet he won't.

9. I thought they all did a good job
except maybe Lieberman. I just don't like that guy, but I guess he'd be better than the Resident. I'll hold my nose and vote for Lieberman if I have to. I just want * OUT of the Whitehouse!

I'm leaning toward Dean right now but I thought they all did a great job tonight. Gephart surprised me when he called Bush a "dismal failure". Go Dick!

12. as someone without a candidate thusfar . . .
I thought any one of them would be a vast improvement over what we have now . . . even Lieberman. They're all in the ballpark on the issues, i.e. light years ahead of Bush, so the question for me is who will make the best candidate?

I was most impressed with Gephart and Kerry -- again, not so much on issues as on presentation and having the look of a presidential contender. I liked Mosely-Braun as well. After all I've heard about Dean, I found him a bit disappointing; okay on the issues, but just not someone I see the great unwashed taking to their bosom. Lieberman was good enough that I'd vote for him if he were the nominee . . . which I trust he will not be. Kucinich is good on the issues, but would have no chance against Bush. Edwards came across as doing a poor Bill Clinton impression, and Graham just has no charisma at all. I missed Al Sharpton, and have to wonder how Clark would/will stack up against this group.

All in all, though, I think they're all good Democrats -- some better than others -- and I'll support whoever gets the nomination. If I had to vote today, it would probably be for Kerry or Gephart -- but that could change tomorrow.

Mike's great, isn't he? He's the anti-Colmes - a liberal with a spine (and a spleen).

18. Yeah I thought he was rude
He was too eager.
I know he's enthusiastic, that's great, but it really doesn't help him to be dirty. Point out Dean's mistakes, but don't make it seem personal (which he did).

16. I was very impressed by Mosely-Braun
I don't know much about the controversy surrounding her. All I know is she lost her last senate race. Lieberman continues to disgust me. I was disappointed by Kucinich's behavior and I have been interested by him up until this point. Gephart was on fire attacking Bush but I don't buy it for a second considering his shenanigans during the whole Iraq Resolution debacle.

26. Lieberman did nothing for me.
Most of the others seemed fired up, CMB seemed thoughtful and imaginative with her ideas to fix problems in America, all seemed gracious and intelligent. But if it were Lieberman, I'd barely be able to get out of my lounge chair to go vote, much less volunteer for the local party.
