I decided not to watch the opening for tonight's game, because I heard about all the politicised shit that would be going on. But I heard about it, and did not like it one bit. That's why I didn't want to tune in too early. For example, they show KKKoors commercials like twice on every commercial break. I really think there's some damn partisan politicising going on here with the NFL.

Here's another good example: Take the fact that when FOX broadcasts their NFL games, and does a promo for Bill O'Lielly's show, and one of the announcers proceeds to lick O'Lielly's ass, talking about how "fair and balanced" he is, and how he's the "answer for the liberal media", and all that bullshit. And the fact that football is my all-time favorite sport, it REALLY pisses me off. I just want to watch some fucking football for three hours. I don't want jingoistic, nationalistic, neo-con shit being thrown in my face at the beginning. I used to not have to mute the TV right before kickoff, now I HAVE to.

I understand there are a lot of liberals and Democrats who watch and play football, but I will tell you from my personal experiences as a high school player and a college student assistant, that we're in the minority, trust me. Although the population as a whole seems to be split about 50/50, a group of relatively young, majority male football fans would in my guess be 70% conservative and/or apathetic. Hence the Coors commercials urging them to get drunk, molest babes, crush nature, and celebrate ignorance.
