3. Sorry, but Telstar wasn't by The Ventures
It was a hit by The Tornadoes in 1962.

If you LOVE guitar music buy Nokie Edwards' stuff...it is fantastic!

6. Well, That's Cool!
I DID NOT KNOW THAT! Friends with Nokie, huh?

I'm not a big fan of surf music, but if i put The Ventures into the perspective of the times, i would have to surmise they were pretty cool. Geez, had i been in my late teens in the early 60's, i might have been a big fan.

11. You are correct.
Duane Eddy.

The Ventures may have covered it on an album, though.

20. "Walk Don't Run" -- surf music before there was surf music.
Can't underestimate this ground-breaker.

21. You said it!

Hell, when the Ventures recorded "Walk--Don't Run" in late '59, even Dick Dale hadn't started recording surf music!
