Soulseek seems to be dead at the moment, which sucks ass because it was the closest thing to a replacement for the godlike Audiogalaxy after the RIAA killed it.

1. Napster was great, while it lasted.
I found tons of Back From the Grave and Pebbles stuff there. I even found a copy of the super-rare International Submarine Band song "Sum Up Broke," a 45-only release from the soundtrack of "The Russians are Coming! The Russians are Coming!" It's about the only time you'll hear Gram Parsons sound like he's in a garage/psych band!

3. Try Newsgroups
like EasyNews. You need to subscribe to a service, like EasyNews to see all the groups, but for $9 a month, I find it well worthwhile. You also need to be patient, it is not filesharing.Others have to actually upload their files to the NNTP servers. But I have found from Celtic Mouthmusic, to the Hawklords, to Dan Hicks in alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.complete_cd.

6. WinMX
I can find just about anything on WinMX. I search for a lot of obscure prog rock from the '70s. But the probably is actually getting it downloaded. WinMX is notorious for disconnects. :(
