Record Collectors: What's your Holy Grail?
Edited on Fri Sep-05-03 09:23 PM by CanuckAmok
Looking at all the rare record collections listed on the other thread, go me to thinking...What is thae one piece you want but can never find?

Who knows, maybe one of your friendly DUers has an extra copy...?

Me: Unrest's 7" EP of Foetus and Crispy Ambulance covers.

a close second place:

Throbbing Gristle's picture disc of Cosi Fanni Tutti semi-nude with a refigerator.

or

Any of the pornographic-cover early releases by "Die Form"

or

"Snot of Jesus" by the Church of Secular Humanism.

on edit= if you have these, please sell them to me--I'll be your friend. And I'll be your BEST friend if you refuse!

Edited on Fri Sep-05-03 10:12 PM by FarLeftRage
on vinyl and most of their solo recordings on vinyl.

Lucky for me, my brother is fixing up a turntable with large speakers!

Sorry, no extra copies available.

On edit: Sorry, just misunderstood.

I would like to get the following:

"In Praise of Older Women" - Kid Creole & the Cocoanuts

"In Excelsis Dayglo" - Christmas

Any cd by the Baby Animals.

7. WOW - "In Excelsis Dayglo" - Christmas
Is that the Airplane stamp one? I may actually have two copies of that. At the very least could get you a tape or CDr. I have to copies of one of their LPs, don't remeber which one. Did James from Yo La Tengo play on one of those, or did he only play with them live?

2. Listening to Richard Brautigan
Brautigan reading his poetry. May sound kinda lame, but I have most all the music that I want that is hard to get. I mean, there are some live shows I want, unreleased things, maybe a R.E.M. radio Free Europe 45 on Hibtone would be nice, but I'd really like to have is that elusive Brautigan LP on Harvest.

6. Here's one I bet no one can answer
There was an old Eric Burdon and the Animals record where he said live, introducing his own song, that he got it wrong.

He said "I'm almost gone. grown. (unintelligible) I'm Almost Grown"

I haven't heard that forever, so may have it wrong. Anybody have a clue?

9. An acetate of The Rolling Stones'...
"Cocksucker Blues" I have a pristine dub of the song, but apparently Decca actually made a couple of dozen of the acetates (don't know why since the record co. hated it and couldn't release it)

11. Richard Thompson - Pour Down Like Silver....
...on CD in good condition that doesn't cost me more than USD $35. It's been out of print for a few years, an act of criminal negligence.

16. White Duck vinyl, tape, or cd
White Duck

message my inbox

I can't pay much at all. But not many people really want it.
I don't need the vinyl really, if you can make me a tape or cd, I would almost prefer that.

thanks for any info.
