1. I watched that game last night
They sure are having an amazing September. I'll definitely be rooting for 'em- I like an underdog and I hate the Yankees (sorry Yankee fans.)

5. You better check the standings
The mariners are behind both the Red Sox and the As as of this morning. Clemens pulled? Music to my ears. Too bad it didn't happen in Boston. Now if RS pitching can hold up?????????????

I was thinking of Minnesota.

Still, you can dream, because Seattle will pass Oakland, and the Sox will CHOKE like Chimp on a pretzel! :P

7. well, I know about the A's
The Mariners had a horrible losing streak, and fell behind the A's 2 games. They have been FROZEN at 2 games behind now for a few weeks. Never BELOW 2 games... just frozen. They play Oakland 6 times in the next few weeks.

As for the Sox... *choke* :P

10. It's always high hopes with Sox fans.
Will you never learn? Your team ALWAYS finds a way to blow it. Buck Dent, '86, even a couple years ago when they got in as a wild card. Yanks, on the other hand, are always shakey in Sept, then go on to bigger and better things. Such is the way of the JINX.

17. that interestingly was the last series in which the sox won
1918- The war to end all wars hadnt even ended yet. Babe Ruth was known as a Red Sox's pitcher, Kitty Keown was 6 years old(my grandmother), and Lilly Keown was still living (her mother who died 5 years later. Tells you how much the times have changed eh.
So it was BoSox vs Cubs and BoSox won. Another cursed team, the chicago white sox.

23. This may be the year! I hope I didnt just jinx em!
If the win tomorrow too, assuming that they also win today (11-0 lead in 9th), they'll be 1/2 game out. The last 20 game they play, 3 are against the White Sox, a good team, and the rest against the likes of Baltimore, Tampa Bay, and Cleveland, all teams with losing records.
The bullpen HAS to hold up! The starting is pretty good and the hitting is #1 in baseball, but the bullpen has been shaky all year long.
The Yanks are looking tired. Clemens looks like he has no more gas in his tank, Mussina and Pettite look a bit worn too. Rivera is not the closer he once was.
If they dont do it this tear they may never do it.

Read my post above. You guys ALWAYS fall apart, whether it's before or during the playoffs. And let's not talk about '86.

You guys are JINXED. Don't get your hopes up.

we are coming to take your division lead Yankees. Not tomorrow but by next weekend. If Bernie Williams keeps hitting like Treat Williams then we are gonna come steal your lunch money.

27. YAWWWWNNNNN!
yeah just like when the Red Sox outmanuvered the Yankees at the trading deadline when the got gas can Kim and all those Pirate pitchers? Whatever, its a common story, they show enough life to let you New englanders have high hopes, and then dash them to the ground. They wont make the post season (again), I dont think the Yanks will go far either, not with that old ass rotation.

29. Exactly
The Sox always crumble and the Yanks are always shaky at the end of the season. True, there is first time for everything, but not this year. The Sox will be doomed, per usual.
