Say Goodbye Chicago White Sox |
|
As Minnesota Twins take the American League Central away from you for the 3rd year in a row. How sweet it is winning it in Chicago!!!

2. That's one more starter than the Yankees have |
|

And actually Twins have three quality starters. And, in a 5 game series Twins will be able to start Santana (your presumptive Cy Young award winner), and Brad Radke twice each...and the third starter Carlos Silva (13-8) is no slouch.
The Spankees are going one and out this year!!!

I will admit that Radke is a quality starter....but Carlos Silva and Kyle Loshe do not scare anyone. Plus, the Twins lineup is weak....
Yanks' starting pitchers have been very good in september, Kevin Brown will be back in 2 weeks, and you cannot beat their set up man (Gordon) and closer (Rivera).

5. Twin's have the best bullpen in the American League |
|
Edited on Mon Sep-20-04 10:34 PM by SaveElmer
Rivera and Gordon are quality, but the rest of that pitching staff is mediocre at best. And I would say that Nathan and Rincon stack up pretty well against them. Add in Romero and Crain and you have the leagues top bullpen. In fact the Twin's pitching staff has the lowest ERA in the league. I'll concede that Loshe isn't burning things up this year, but Silva has improved quite a bit. And while I will admit the Twin's don't have quite the firepower the Yankees do, they cannot be considered weak by any means. And defensively there is no one better.
Course the way things are goin, the Twins may be playing Oakland the first round, leaving the Red Sox and Yankees to go at it again.

6. Did you know? (Baseball trivia) |
|
That a lot of major league team names are actually shortened versions of a longer name?
For example, the Chicago White Sox were originally the "White Stockings." Mets is short for "Metropolitans." Reds stands for the "Redlegs."
And Yankees is short for "Yankees suck."
