What is an average P4 3.0Ghz CPU Temperature? |
|
Idling or at full power?
I believe what I have would be considered a dual-cpu, but I have never understood that, if it matters.
Mine is 35.5c with 0% use, and 51.6c at 100%. (Well, 50%/50%, which seems to be its max, and why I believe it's a dual)
Is that decent?

1. My AMD Duron runs between 52c and 57c |

That's pretty high, but anything under 60c is considered acceptable. I only discovered this recently when one of my fans was dying, and I worried about it for a while, but I finally decided it had probably always been that way. I think my computer case is not laid out in a well-ventilated way.

2. I'd heard that Pentiums ran a lot cooler |

than other brands - intentionally I mean, they have a lower temperature threshold. So I think mine is all right. My fan (I don't know which, whichever has the sensor on it) goes from 4,800 RPM at idle to 6,000 RPM during full use. Just typing this now, the CPU is only 3 (F) hotter than the case, (93F) which seems pretty good to me.
