Lounge drinking game for Bush's speech
This was discussed a couple of days ago on an LBN thread. First there was a bet on how long into the speech he link 9/11 to Iraq. Then, how many times he would do it. Then we talked about some sort of drinking game.

Anybody interested? Anybody have ideas about the rules?

....I think Devils Advocate NZ predicted this yesterday........I need a drink MANY of them. DAMN he cavalierly asks for 87 billion even as we are hemorrhaging at home. What insanity. GOD....PLEASE pass the barrel of ale, rum, beer, whatever libation is most in abundance. I do not need a glass!

25. 87 BILLION?
God, am I glad I couldn't bring myself to watch/listen to Smirk and his sacrificing for terra (translation-the average Joe and Jane Sixpack are the poor suckers who will be doing the actual sacrificing) bullshit. It's a good thing I don't really drink (rarely), or I'd be too wasted to go into work tomorrow!

26. You did yourself a favor by avoiding the agony.
Edited on Sun Sep-07-03 08:34 PM by benfranklin1776
He had his usual "deer in the headlights, God I hope I don't screw up reading Karls speech on the teleprompter look" and he blithely tossed off that 87 billion figure like he was announcing that he needs candy at the White House for Halloween, no biggee. GOD. But you are right it is , as always, the poorest who will bear the greatest brunt of the sacrifice. They/we will do the sacrificing while his corporate firends are outfitting their new yachts courtesy of his tax "relief" schemes. Oh how far we have fallen from the days of FDR and Truman and Kennedy when the entire country was expected to contribute to the national good, each according to their means. How far we ave fallen from the days of President Cinton when a modicum of fundamental fairness was restored to the tax system and the country flourished. I mean it is insane that this is the first time in US history we are fighting a war and bankrupting the treasury by having regressive tax cuts at the same time........I need to go swimming in that barrel of ale! Alas as yourself I must work on the morrow so such festivities will have to wait since we must pay the bills he's rackin up dontcha know.

24. Dang! Lost all my bets!
Was busy doing homework, looked up at CNN (was muted), and saw I missed the speech. Once again, saved from puking! I see by the posts here, I lost my 7 and 30 minute into speech, but how many times did he link 9/11 and Iraq?? I had a bet on for 8.

27. Thanks for the heads-up! I started drinking this morning
Because the Red Sox played the Yankees ( x( ) and then football for the rest of the day.

Then I snoozed for a wee bit with NPR on so I wouldn't miss it.

Can't handle Bush without a buzz.

Speaking of which, it's wearing off and there's only one thing to do. Keep drinking.
