28. Grimes character was named after a pedophile character from Waugh |
|
Evelyn Waugh's first novel has a character named Grimes who is a pedophile private school teacher, he keeps getting fired because he winds up "in the soup."

..Because Homer kicked his ass and Bart drove him out of the neighborhood. If only it were that easy to get rid of those pieces of shit in the real world :evilfrown:
Remember when Homer put the cardboard cutouts right outside Poppy's door and rang the bell?
POPPY: Who is it? HOMER: It's your sons, George Jr and Jeb Bush POPPY: Bar, the boys are here!
Funny thing is, the carboard George Jr probably had an IQ higher than the real one.

22. Frank Grimes by all standards |
|
I had a co-worker who's last name was Grimes and I started calling him Grimey just as a joke.
The co-worker, not being a Simpsons fan, didn't get the reference so I had to stop right then and there.

"Like my shoes? There's a pair just like them in your closet. Don't like them? Neither do I! (throws off shoes) GET THE HELL OUTTA HERE! Ever seen a guy say goodbye to a pair of shoes before?"
Homer: "Heh heh, yes, once."
I don't know why, but that exchange, and the bit about the hammocks, is my favorite Simpsons bit of all time.
