The Cubs are rolling along and the Astros lost today, so as of right now, 9/07/03 at 9:00 CDT, the Cubs are in first place in the N.L. Central!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am pumped!!!!!!

Think of all the fawning media puff-pieces about centenarians who were alive for the last WS for each team. Argh - talk about something getting old quick!
I would love for the Red Sox and Cubs to finally win a WS, but please do NOT let them play each other - can you imagine the self-flagellation of the fans of the team that LOST that series?!?!

The good news is they lead the division, the bad news is if they fall back they are looking at 4th for the wild card.

And I was one! It was comical, really. One of the prize winners in a between-inning contest said he was from Milwaukee then proceeded to ape for the Jumbotron, pointing to his Cubs t-shirt.

I have always liked that place. Summerfest is one of the greatest Celebrations around. And the Cubs are in first!!!!!! OK OK The Cubs are in Chicago, but hey, Milwaukee is a fine city.
