Lavar is going to rip the boys apart. I saw that Falcons game, the cowboys can't function as a team and look absolutely pathetic.

2. No college team can beat an NFL team |
|
Edited on Mon Sep-08-03 02:25 PM by VermontDem2004
The Bengals have a third string heisman trophy winning quarterback and 25 former all americans on that team, the same could be said about the other teams on the list. The skill level clearly does not match up and no college team has a pray against an NFL team.
Edit:why did you maky the Browns an option? They went to the playoffs last year, the Redskins? They have a solid team.

21. Yeah, the premise is a fun one |
|
But, having covered the Lions and some (not much) college football, I'm confident in saying that any NFL squad would whip the best college team quite easily. Lord, until you get down on the sidelines and watch these pros smack each other around, you have no idea how fast and violent the game really is. It doesn't translate well either onto TV or into the stands. The NFL has a rule requiring sportswriters to stay at least ten yards from the sideline because if a play comes out of bounds, you'd never get out of the way fast enough (see the movie "The Fortune Cookie"). I'd say this: However much money a year these guys get paid, they earn every penny of it. John Doesn't know much about history, but does know sports.

No college team can beat an NFL team. No college team can TIE an NFL team. No college team should even be on the same field at the same time unless they're getting autographs.

UNDERPANTS--I think any of those EXCEPT Texas (sorry, Lone Star State DUers; we still like ya!) could bet ANY of the NFL teams you picked out...and probably whup up on 'em, too! :eyes:
I've got this feeling you might be able to add Florida State to that mix pretty soon, too--and, (tragically enough), on the other end, the Carolina Panthers.

5. You have got to be out of your mind |
|
Miami will probaly at most have 10 all Americans, well the Bengals have 25 former all americans and a third string heisman trophy winner. Any of those teams would get killed by any of the teams mentioned above, you have got to be out of your mind to think otherwise.

8. Years ago, there was an"All-Star Game" |
|
In which an NFL team took on a bunch of college superstars. The game died a sudden death after several years of embarrassing defeats for the collegians. Never got close.....
So, my answer is "Never. Not gonna happen."

I think the Steelers in the 70's were the last to play in that game.
No I know they couldn't beat them I'm just making a comment on those sorry ass teams. I didn't se any of the Browns game but a final of 9-6 when they are supposed to have two of the worst defenses in the league (at least Cleveland's is not known yet).
The Cowboys were just flat out horrible yesterday.
The skins actually played very well and that was a well played game last Thursday.

11. The Bengals don't have |
|
Super Bowl MVP Dexter Jackson, they also don't have Duane Starks which has been a solid corner for the Ravens, they also don't have Adrian Wilson which proved to be a so SS last year. No collegiate team has a chance against a pro team, sorry.

15. People just don't understand the |
|
talent level difference between the pros and college. The Broncos only beat the Bengals 30-10 if a college team even has a chance to beat the bengals, the Broncos would of by 70+ points. The Bengals have about 25 former all americans and a 3rd string heisman winning QB, and Miami will have at a maximum 8 or 9 all americans. A college team would get killed when faced off against a pro team.

Most really, really good college teams have ten to fifteen players that get drafted. Many of those do not survive in the pros. Those that do survive usually have to pick up their game from college to make it.
The talent levels are not even close in the two leagues. To even consider a college team beating a pro team is just ludicrous, albeit fun sometimes.

In fact if they played eachother the score would be something like 70-0 NFL over College. Even the Bengals are loaded with players who in college were better then their peers.
The college QB would be hurt in the first quarter and te offensive line men would be on their backs 90% of the time.

Seriously, the Bengals stink, but there's a huge difference between college and the NFL. You just didn't give an option for "none."
