Waiting for biopsy results again...
Well, I had a chunk taken out of my tongue last week. I'm waiting for results again. Feel like I'm dying by inches, a piece here, a piece there...I'm not scared, just sad that I've made such a mess of everything...

6. Tonight I was talking to ex-hubby
I rather foolishly expressed my worry to him. We were talking about what to do if it's serious...first off, how to get the kids to me. I think he thinks I should move back to Racine if I'm dying...but I don't want to die there. Selfish, huh.

Then I was saying that if the choice is between losing my tongue and living unable to eat or speak for 20 years and dying in about five years but with a good quality of life, I'd choose the latter. Ex pointed out that this is no longer my decision, I can't pick quality of life over quantity because the kids need as much quantity as I can possibly muster...

Now I feel awful for wanting to die on my own terms and not the kids'...

11. Hey don't talk like that we need you around here!
If you can type then you have a way of speaking and you don't make a choice like that.
You have people to think of that loves you and we love you here at DU.
You are young and you don't think negative about everything you need to stay positive because it helps.

Your kids would be lost without you and so would we.

I will pray for you!

3. Waiting with you
The being in limbo part is the hardest thing I think.

Good thoughts that the report has negative results.

8. You did nothing to deserve this.
Illness is not punishment for wrong deeds regardless of what some believe.

Who knows what environmental factors cause things? After all the FDA and many government agencies are owned lock stock and barrell by corporations who don't want us to know what is really in our food and stuff.

9. [[[[[[Hug]]]]]
Had a humongous breast lump taken out a year ago.

My mother and grandmother died of breast cancer. My sister survived it with radical surgery, radiation and excruciating months of chemotherapy.

Waiting is the hardest part. I died a thousand miserable deaths in my imagination before the final pathology results said it was benign. Whatever the final verdict is, there are lots of us who've been there/done that and know what you're going through.

If there's anyway I can help, let me know.

10. Good luck, Tucker!
I don't know what they're biopsing for, but a friend of mine has had two rounds of oral cancer and she's doing fine--her speech has been affected a little bit, but only slightly, and so far as I know she can still eat and everything.

I know for a language person the thought of anything going wrong is very scary. But even if they have to operate, maybe it won't be all or nothing.

Thinking benign thoughts,

The Plaid Adder

I've experienced guilt, myself, because I have been ill. It is hardly your fault and I know this will pass. Focus on all the support you are getting here. We care about you and will always be here for you!

13. Bunches of hugs
I'm so sorry you're going through this. People get sick for all kinds of reasons and sometimes people get sick with no reason at all. But love comes equally to everyone. Good thoughts!

14. My wife is going thru same thing. Her breast cancer has returned
after 9 years of remission.

She is waiting for the final analysis from her oncologist and an approach on how to deal with this one. Its her 3rd attack and its not like you get used to it.

Good luck Tucker, may you see better days.

kinds of problems would visit those who live in paradise. My thoughts are with you and your wife.:-(

17. I'm pulling for you too, Tucker!
I know you don't know me by this name but I do care about you as do so many people here! You're not dying but living day by day like all of us. If you were collapsing you would not bother with this place anymore. You've shown more strength than many could muster. Please keep that up and know we are pulling for you! :)
