Possibly the most beautiful film I've ever seen.

2. It's not great, but good. |
|
I like movies you can have a heated debate about.

3. It's funny but that movie had DU'ers loving or hating it. Some have said |
|
one of the actors is a Communist and so we shouldn't go see it...turns out when you read all about it the guy isn't a Communist...but the movie has a great message for PEACE....
But, as a "visual delight" I don't know of any other movies that can come clse except David Lean's Cinematographer in his great movies like Zhivago and Lawrence of Arabia for visuals.
It's just an "eye candy" movie...but even saying that is trivializing the cinematography...but I loved it...so am very biased for romantic visuals which transcend one...to another place.
But....like action...

4. Oh, I think it's more than just eye candy. |
|
It works on three levels. The eye candy. The surprisingly complex "Rashomon" type plot. And the debate about what it all stands for.
Damn good.

5. a little kick for "Hero." It's a good one to watch on "Big Screen." DVD |
|
Rental just won't be the same...unless you have one of those "In Home Theaters" which mimic "Big Screen."
If not...please try to see it in the theater..Really!
