I bought a copy of Spin to read the Pixies article
I haven't bought a copy of Spin for years... I used to read it when it first came out. Usually it reminds me of what Rolling Stone became. However, the article was very interesting and made me remember the old days when my bass player friend interviewed them for his fanzine in the mid eighties. I remember because Kim Deal was Mrs. John Murphy back then and I thought that was pretty cool. She is a very cool woman and someone all female rockers should feel proud of.

But boy I can't believe they are all that old... or that I am that old, too. :) I wish I could see them on this tour. And now my head is full of Pixies tunes.

2. Pshaw! They're not that old.
OK, Kim is, but she's not as positively ancient as Kim Gordon.

you haven't seen the pictures, have you? They are all pushing 40 or older. And all bald. Except Kim, that is. How old is Kim Gordon? And be careful, she might be my age!

5. What's wrong with old rockers?
In every other genre of music, everyone agrees you get better with age and experience. Dizzy Gillespie, Gil Evans, Pablo Casals were all vital contributors well into their 80s.

But we're only willing to grant rock musicians a productive lifespan less than a ballplayer? What's up with that?

My band has a gig next week-- and I'm 51 years old. What's more, we're opening for a guy *even older than me*-- Nik Turner, one of the founding members of Hawkwind (same band that Lemmy Kilminster of Motorhead came from). And we are damned well gonna blow the lid off, you young whippersnappers.

9. beautiful
did you change your name again? I tried to send a PM about Patti S protection services, but it didn't work. Oh well.

I guess I will just have to run around being the "old rock chicks" defense league! ;)
