What is your birth order? And do you fit into your category?
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/hstein/birthord.htm

ONLY Birth is a miracle. Parents have no previous experience. Retains 200% attention from both parents. May become rival of one parent. Can be over-protected and spoiled. Likes being the center of adult attention. Often has difficulty sharing with siblings and peers. Prefers adult company and uses adult language.

OLDEST Dethroned by next child. Has to learn to share. Parent expectations are usually very high. Often given resposnsibility and expected to set an example. May become authoritarian or strict. Feels power is his right. Can become helpful if encouraged. May turn to father after birth of next child.

MIDDLE Is "sandwiched" in. May feel squeezed out of a position of privilege and significance. May be even-tempered, "take it or leave it" attitude. May have trouble finding a place or become a fighter of injustice.

YOUNGEST Has many mothers and fathers. Older children try to educate him. Never dethroned. Wants to be bigger than the others. May have huge plans that never work out. Can stay the "baby." Frequently spoiled.

I'm technically in the middle (three older brothers, bunnyj, a younger sister and two younger brothers) but I display characteristics more in line with an Oldest. Maybe because I'm the oldest girl? Or maybe I'm just a pushy Aries? :)

Let's not forget that George W. Bush is an Oldest. x(

4. You're the youngest, then.
Unless you are a twin - there's a special blurb about twins in the article.

2. I'm a pretty typical youngest child.
My oldest and middle sisters fit into their stereotypes too.

6. I'm the youngest of two, but historically, I fit the "middle" profile more
And I would like to think that I became something of a "fighter of injustice."

11. That's how I feel as well
never felt the baby (younger of two by only 13 months)
and always felt "different". I've always rooted for the "underdog"

:)

8. Older of two girls.
I am closer to my father than to my mother (although I do have a good relationship with both), and I am the sibling assigned the typical "responsible" things (i.e. I am the executor of my parents' will, I have power of attorney if both of them become incapacitated, etc.)

9. Oldest of four boys...
...I conform pretty much to the first part of the 'oldest' stereotype, 'cept I'm not authoritian or strict, and I don't feel power is my 'right', and my dad stayed Dad.

12. I'm the youngest-not spoiled.
My older sister may think differently. I am the emotional and physical support for my elderly mother, so we have a closer relationship and she tends to cut me a little more slack (just a little though) than she does with my sister. I don't call that spoiled.

13. Youngest
I do fit some other descriptions of the youngest. I try to make everyone get along too much and don't like conflict. I don't think I was spoiled but my parents were less strict with me.

16. I'm the youngest
And none of that fits me. My mother spoiled me but she died when I was young. My siblings despised me, my father forgot that I existed. I was extremely independent, left home at 17, have supported myself ever since, am very liberal and a fighter for social justice.
